JTI Korea Appoints David Wheeler as New President
Appointed as JTI Korea General Manager Based on Extensive Global Experience and Expertise
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] JTI Korea announced on the 30th that it has appointed David Wheeler, former JTI Thailand President, as the new President of JTI Korea.
President Wheeler, based on over 20 years of experience accumulated across various regions including Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, will oversee JTI Korea. British-born David Wheeler joined JTI UK in 2001 and, after receiving his first overseas assignment in South Africa in 2010, successfully introduced a new distribution model while leading the sales team there.
He later served as Trade Marketing Director at the regional headquarters for the Middle East, Africa, Turkey, and Duty-Free Business Division teams, and in 2012, he held the position of President leading the Gulf 6 countries market from Dubai. In 2016, he oversaw 10 West African countries from Lagos, Nigeria, and from late 2018, he served as President of JTI Thailand.
Under President Wheeler’s new leadership, JTI Korea plans to further strengthen its portfolio of customer-centric, high-quality products and focus on building a sustainable Korean market in the long term.

President Wheeler of JTI Korea stated, “I am very pleased to join as the new President of JTI Korea, and based on my experience working in diverse regions and cultures, I plan to lead JTI Korea’s continuous growth in the evolving Korean tobacco market.
