Hylacell is a hydrogel-type product that heals wounds by absorbing inflammation (exudate) from damaged skin mucosa, and provides three effects with a single application: moisture supply, skin regeneration, and wound healing, according to Incoa.
The main ingredients are hyaluronic acid, alginate, and lactic acid.
Hyaluronic acid absorbs exudate, supplies moisture, and has wrinkle prevention effects; alginate supplies moisture and removes toxins; lactic acid plays a role in exfoliation and inducing collagen production.
The strength of Hylacell compared to existing wound dressings is known to be its pH regulation, creating an optimal environment for skin protection and regeneration. The outer skin is wrapped in a hydrogel protective film with a pH of 4.7 to prevent the evaporation of the skin's natural moisture, while the inner skin is maintained at a mildly acidic pH of 5.5, which is the pH of healthy skin, enhancing moisture retention and defense, and suppressing various harmful bacteria that cause atopy, acne, and other conditions.
