Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station Subname to Become 'Hana Bank Station'... Hana Bank Selected as Final Bidder
From October, Hana Bank to be co-listed in station names, signs, and announcements at Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hana Bank announced on the 28th that it participated in the paid bidding for the co-naming of Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station on Seoul Subway Line 2, conducted by Seoul Metro, and was selected as the final successful bidder.
With this, Hana Financial Group will be able to use the Hana Bank station name at Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station on Line 2, which passes through major downtown areas of Seoul, following Cheongna International City Station on the Incheon International Airport Railroad, where the station name 'Hana Financial Town' is co-named.
Following this successful bid, Hana Bank plans to proceed with the co-naming process inside and outside Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station for about 60 days starting in August. From October, passengers using Line 2 trains and Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station will be informed of the newly added Hana Bank station name through ▲station nameplates and signs inside and outside the station ▲route maps inside and outside the trains ▲and announcement broadcasts.
Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station is a major subway station with approximately 22 million annual boardings and alightings as of last year. Euljiro is the financial hub where major domestic financial companies are concentrated and is recently considered the most preferred area by the MZ generation (born in the 1980s to 2000s). Thanks to the gradually normalizing Myeongdong tourism demand after COVID-19, the foreign floating population is also increasing.
A Hana Bank official stated, "With Hana Bank being co-named at Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station this time, we expect Hana Bank to establish itself as a representative landmark of Euljiro that coexists with the local commercial district and the new generation, keeping pace with the new era of Euljiro, where not only the MZ generation but also the global floating population is returning."
