26 Teachers Selected to Prevent Elementary Students' School Adjustment Issues, etc.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Gyeongnam Office of Education will operate the ‘Early Childhood and Elementary School Transition Education Field Support Team’ for the first time on July 5.
The Early Childhood and Elementary School Transition Education Field Support Team is operated to support the proper growth and development of young children through linked education between kindergartens and elementary schools, and to enhance elementary students’ adaptability to school life.
The provincial Office of Education publicly recruited members for the support team and selected 26 teachers from kindergartens and elementary schools.
They will support ▲ forming a consensus among teachers on spreading play culture ▲ linked education between kindergartens and elementary schools ▲ guidance on elementary school education.
An official from the Office of Education said, “This project will serve as a stepping stone to reduce cultural gaps between school levels and eliminate cases of maladjustment to elementary school admission, realizing education that makes children happy.”
The support team plans to take its first step in early childhood and elementary school transition education starting with the field support team council on the 5th of next month.
Teacher Gu Ja-young of Towol Elementary School, selected for the field support team, said, “Having been a first-grade homeroom teacher for two years, I directly experienced the need for linkage in learning and life guidance between kindergartens and elementary schools,” adding, “I applied because I want to guide parents and young children on what is good to know in advance from kindergarten to relieve vague anxieties about entering elementary school.”
