Gyeongbuk Office of Education Supports Educational Innovation with Metaverse-Based Curriculum!
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] The Gyeongbuk Office of Education is actively supporting the operation of educational curricula using the metaverse (a virtual world on the web) to overcome difficulties in running school curricula in rural fishing and farming areas.
To create a model for operating the rural high school credit system, this year Seongju High School has been designated and operated as a research school for the high school credit system. It is the only school nationwide to utilize a ‘metaverse platform’ to operate curricula that overcome environmental constraints in rural areas, and its achievements have been highly evaluated in consulting hosted by the Ministry of Education.
Seongju High School’s ‘Curriculum Expo Using the Metaverse’ allows students and parents to access school introductions, subject-specific guide materials, club introductions, various school activity videos, and online counseling related to teachers and career and college admissions through the metaverse platform without visiting the school.

Parents in rural fishing and farming areas, who find it difficult to visit schools due to geographical and environmental conditions, can easily enter using their mobile phones. The advantage of being able to repeatedly use the necessary videos and materials without limitation is expected to result in high parental satisfaction.
From June to August, Seongju High School will open the metaverse curriculum expo platform so that students and parents can freely access school curricula, subject introductions, and counseling on career and academic planning regardless of time and place. It will also be open for free access and observation by all schools in the province.
