Suncheon National University Hosts 'Eco Career Experience Expo'
From 10 AM to 4 PM on the 15th of next month
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon National University (President Ko Young-jin) announced on the 27th that it will hold the ‘2022 Academic Year Eco Career Experience Expo’ for local youth who are considering career choices.
The Eco Career Experience Expo, held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the 15th of next month, is themed ‘A Dream Trip with Nature.’ Based on the eco-industries of the ecological city Suncheon, it provides students with a chance to indirectly experience the vivid world of professions by meeting professionals who are difficult to encounter easily, and to enhance their career development capabilities.
A total of 24 booths will participate, including various departments and faculties of Suncheon National University and local institutions.
The event consists of various career experiences such as one-on-one admission counseling, career psychological tests, and department experiences to understand changes in the professional world, establish healthy values about careers, provide information, and set career goals.
In particular, with participation from various departments of Suncheon National University, a diverse experience venue has been prepared, including ▲Department of Biology (observation of biomolecules and cancer cells), ▲Department of Culinary Science (making pink & blue lemonade using pH concentration differences), ▲Department of Food and Nutrition (correct nutrition and measuring sodium and sugar in food), ▲Department of Mechanical Engineering (internal combustion engines and electric cars), ▲Department of Environmental Education (making insect toast as future food resources), ▲Department of Food Engineering (smart quality control practice, fermented food processing experience), ▲Department of Accounting (learning accounting through games), ▲Department of Chemistry (perfumer experience using diffusion principles, eco-friendly chemical technology and wastewater treatment), and ▲Department of Horticulture (my own little sprout).
Also, related to ’Eco,‘ a specialized industry in the Suncheon area, several booths that will foster environmental sensitivity such as ▲making sock yarn flower keyrings, ▲making coffee grounds dishwashing soap, ▲making eco-friendly natural scrubbers, and ▲practicing low-carbon living will be operated, along with a VR experience zone where visitors can directly try virtual reality (VR) devices such as Beat Saber (rhythm game) and 3D drawing experiences.
Strict adherence to COVID-19 quarantine rules will be maintained, and to ensure safe quarantine management, the number of participants will be limited by time and operated by prior reservation.
