Kim Cheol-woo, Boseong County Governor Inauguration Ceremony Canceled 'Into the Field'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that on July 1, Mayor Kim Cheol-woo of the 8th local government will replace the inauguration ceremony with a staff monthly meeting and start his first day in office with public service activities.

The first activity will begin at 8 a.m. with environmental cleanup in the Boseong-eup downtown area.

The environmental cleanup will be simultaneously conducted in 12 towns and townships, symbolizing the dedication of all staff members as public officials serving the residents.

After the cleanup, a staff monthly meeting is scheduled to be held in the large conference room of the Boseong County Office.

During the monthly meeting, the inauguration oath and inaugural address will be read to share the vision of Boseong-gun under the 8th local government.

Various meetings with residents are also planned.

Mayor Kim Cheol-woo will transform into a physical education teacher at a local daycare center to observe the children and childcare environment.

This schedule reflects Mayor Kim’s intention to strengthen policies for children and youth in the 8th local government.

Following this, volunteer meal service at the senior welfare center and visits to local farming sites are planned to meet with senior citizens and farmers in the area.

The final schedule includes attending a forest concert held at Deungnyang Obongsan, which was registered as a ‘National Registered Cultural Heritage’ in April.

Mayor Kim Cheol-woo of Boseong-gun said, “In line with the changing expectations of the public, we have canceled the inauguration ceremony, which requires a considerable budget, and decided to start with activities that reflect the meaning of being servants of the people, beginning at the community level.” He added, “During the 8th local government, I will communicate more closely with the residents and lead greater development of Boseong-gun.”
