Mec ICs Completes Urgent Supply of 200 MV2000 Ventilators to Europe
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] MekICS, the only domestic company specializing in ventilators and respiratory therapy devices (CEO Kim Jongcheol), announced on the 27th that its ventilator MV2000 has been selected as an emergency health care supply item for humanitarian aid by the government, and 200 units have been supplied to Europe.
The supply amount for the 200 units is approximately 4 billion KRW, and including the prior supply of 50 units in March and 60 units in April, a total of 310 units have been supplied, with a total supply amount of about 6 billion KRW.
Lee Hyungyoung, CFO of MekICS, stated, “This supply was an urgent response to the government’s humanitarian support of ventilators to Europe. Currently, the ventilator market is facing delays in the supply schedule of key components, and in the case of semiconductor ICs, the procurement period is nearly one year from the time of order, making it difficult to supply a large quantity of around 200 units.”
