Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to Hold 'Railway Day' Ceremony on the 28th
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] This year's 'Railway Day' commemorative ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on the 28th at the Millennium Hilton Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 27th, about 300 people will attend the ceremony, including Eo Myeong-so, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Kim Han-young, Chairman of the Korea Railroad Association, Committee Member Lee Heon-seung, Committee Member Moon Jin-seok, and others. Hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the event will be held under the theme "Leading Korea safely, making citizens happy, with railways."
The ceremony will begin with a performance expressing appreciation for the tireless efforts of railway workers to ensure safe railway use and their commitment and aspiration to create convenient and safe railways, followed by an awards ceremony honoring those who have contributed to the development of the railway industry.
The prestigious Cheoltap Industrial Medal will be awarded to Song Jin-ho, Chairman of Sejong Technology Co., Ltd., in recognition of his contributions to railway technology development and securing overseas railway projects. The Industrial Medal will be awarded to Lee Seok-ho, Executive Director of Dohwa Engineering Co., Ltd., and Lee An-ho, Deputy Director of the Korea Railroad Research Institute.

Meanwhile, in connection with this year's Railway Day commemorative ceremony, a Railway Literature Award ceremony and a photo exhibition that the public can participate in and enjoy are also planned. The Railway Literature Award, themed on 'railways,' received a total of 1,005 submissions from April 14 to May 31 in two categories: general and student divisions. Among them, 17 works will be selected and announced as winners.
