Concerts by Jeokjae, Younha, and Suran to be Held on SKT Ifland

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] SK Telecom announced on the 27th that it will hold a virtual concert called the 'Metaverse Music Festival' on its metaverse (extended virtual world) platform 'ifland.'
The concert will be held daily at 8 PM for one week from today until the 3rd of next month. Anyone can enter ifland's 'Volumetric Concert Hall' and enjoy the concert for free.
SK Telecom explained that while there have been cases where famous overseas singers held concerts in virtual spaces using game engines and computer graphics, this is the world's first realistic virtual concert on a metaverse platform utilizing volumetric video capture technology.
For this concert, SK Telecom stated that they produced volumetric videos of the singers using more than 100 cameras. Audiences visiting the concert hall with this technology applied can enjoy many surreal contents that cannot be seen on real stages. Singers perform in appearances as large as buildings, and the audience can freely move to any desired location within the spherical concert hall. They can also watch the concert while flying in the sky on a skyboard.
Eight singers, including Jeokjae, Younha, Jamie, Suran, Minsu, Iruri, Yoon Jiyoung, and Yura, will perform at this concert. 'Ifrezendy,' a group formed by ifland users, will also take the stage, and metaverse fan meetings with the performing singers and the girl group 'Woa' will be held. SK Telecom plans to hold other volumetric concerts featuring singers like Yoon Do-hyun and 10CM in August.
