Gangneung City, 'Voluntary Animal Registration Report' Until August... Enforcement from September

[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangneung City, Gangwon Province announced on the 27th that it will operate a voluntary animal registration reporting period from July to August and will intensively inspect animal registration status in places frequently visited by pet owners, such as parks and walking trails, throughout September.
The target animals are pet dogs aged two months or older raised in houses or semi-houses, including yard dogs, and registration can be done at local animal hospitals (12 locations) and animal sales businesses (6 locations).
Changes to animal registration information can be reported at animal registration agencies or at the town, township, or neighborhood community service centers.
According to the 'Animal Protection Act,' pet owners who do not register their animals may be fined up to 1 million KRW, and those who fail to report changes in animal registration may be fined up to 500,000 KRW.
