Gurye-gun Hosts Export Consultation Meeting Inviting Overseas Buyers
Achieved $220,000 in 3 Export Agreements Including Vegetables
Expanded Export Channels for Local Processed Food Companies through One-on-One Face-to-Face Consultations with Overseas Buyers
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it held the ‘2022 Overseas Buyer Invitation Export Consultation Meeting’ on the 23rd to expand overseas market channels for agricultural and specialty processed foods.
The export consultation meeting was attended by 4 buyers from 3 countries including the United States, Hungary, and New Zealand, 2 domestic trading companies, and 20 companies from 3 counties including Gurye-gun. With the cooperation of KOTRA Gwangju Jeonnam Support Group and Jeonnam FTA Utilization Support Center, the event was conducted more substantively.
Also, at one side of the consultation venue, special refreshments that can only be tasted in Gurye were prepared, including products from participating companies such as Gurye Ssukbujaengi Muffin, Sansuyu Whey Drink, and Gurye Fermented Green Tea, providing an opportunity to move the buyers’ hearts, according to officials.
Through a total of 59 export consultations, 3 companies including Gurye-gun Jirisan Piagol Food signed export agreements worth $220,000.
By company, Gurye-gun Jirisan Piagol Food Agricultural Cooperative Corporation signed an export agreement worth $200,000, Hadong-gun Hadong Yullim Agricultural Cooperative Corporation $100,000, and Namhae-gun Black Garlic Korea $20,000.
Kim Sun-ho, head of Gurye-gun, said, “Starting with the overseas buyer invitation export consultation meeting held for the first time in Gurye-gun, we will do our best to expand exports of excellent agricultural and specialty processed foods in the region,” and added, “We will continuously support and manage companies that have achieved export contract results through this export consultation meeting so that they can lead to actual exports.”
