Yeonggwang-gun Conducts Joint Traffic Safety Campaign with Related Organizations

[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 24th that it conducted a traffic order campaign from the main gate of Yeonggwang Elementary School to the Post Office intersection.

On this day, more than 80 people from eight organizations and social groups including the county office, police station, model drivers association, Green Mothers' Association, Citizen Police Council, Korea Freedom Federation, Right Living Movement Council, and Korea Safety Union participated.

The campaign promoted the prohibition of illegal parking and jaywalking, as well as the ban on smartphone use while driving, aiming to raise awareness of traffic safety among students commuting to and from school and residents, and to cultivate an advanced traffic culture consciousness.

This traffic safety campaign, jointly conducted by civilian, government, and police, distributed traffic safety leaflets to students on their way to school during the summer vacation season, and carried out guidance activities such as ensuring pedestrian safety and encouraging yielding driving.

A county official stated, “We plan to continuously conduct campaigns to observe traffic signals and eradicate illegal parking to do our best to prevent traffic accidents and improve the traffic culture index.”
