Ministry of Health and Welfare Visits Digital Healthcare Company Huino ... Gathering Opinions from Industry and Academia
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 23rd that it held the 2nd on-site meeting for 'Health and Welfare Regulatory Innovation' chaired by Lee Gi-il, the 2nd Vice Minister, to gather opinions from companies in the fields of medical devices, non-face-to-face medical care, and health management services.
The meeting held in the afternoon at the President Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, was attended by innovative medical device companies such as VUNO, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based diagnostic support software company, and LivesMed, a multi-joint surgical instrument company, as well as 13 companies including Neofact and SH Biotech, which are conducting special demonstrations related to non-face-to-face rehabilitation training and testing, and iCoop and Hurey Positive, which provide chronic disease management services. Related organizations such as the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, the Korea Institute for Health and Medical Affairs, and the Pan-Ministry Medical Device R&D Project Group also participated.
Companies attending the meeting, engaged in businesses such as medical devices utilizing innovative technologies including AI, non-face-to-face medical care, and health management services, shared the current status of the industry through presentations and proposed difficulties and regulatory improvement opinions to the government side.
Vice Minister Lee said, "Regulatory innovation begins with visiting the field directly to listen to voices," adding, "We will continue to actively listen to difficulties throughout the health and welfare field caused by regulations through relay on-site meetings and strive to come up with improvement measures that the field can feel."
