LG Energy Solution and SK On Join Hands with Hanyang University to Train Battery Specialists

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] LG Energy Solution and SK On announced on the 23rd that they will engage in industry-academia cooperation with Hanyang University to cultivate specialized battery personnel.
On the 22nd, both companies signed agreements with Hanyang University to foster battery talent. Accordingly, Hanyang University will establish a graduate program in Battery Engineering and operate a customized degree course.
A Battery Engineering department (with a capacity of 40 students) will be newly established within the general graduate school, and outstanding students among the entrants will be selected as industry-academia scholarship students. Selected students will complete a customized battery track degree program jointly developed by Hanyang University and the two companies, and will be trained as experts equipped with specialized battery knowledge and practical skills.
Additionally, these students will receive tuition and scholarships supported by the university and the two companies, and will be employed by the respective companies upon graduation.
Oh Seong-geun, Vice President of Hanyang University, said, "Although the battery industry is growing rapidly, there is a shortage of specialized personnel compared to the market size. We will join forces with the world's top battery companies to cultivate top-tier talent in the battery field."
Lee Jang-won, Director of SK On Battery Research Institute, said, "SK On has led the global battery market through excellent human resources and high-nickel development. We will do our best to nurture outstanding talent that can enhance the competitiveness of Korean batteries in the future."
