KCCI "Regret Over Public Interest Members of Minimum Wage Committee Not Submitting Agenda for Industry-Specific Application"
"Recognition of the Need for Research to Apply Industry-Specific Differentiation Is Desirable"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Korea Employers Federation (KEF) expressed "deep regret" on the 21st over the public interest commissioners' failure to fulfill their promise to submit the agenda on differentiated minimum wage application by industry at the 5th plenary meeting of the Minimum Wage Commission.
At the meeting, the public interest commissioners had recommended that the government research basic review materials related to differentiated application by industry and living expenses and submit them to the Minimum Wage Commission before the request for next year's review.
In a statement issued that day, KEF said, "We positively evaluate the fact that all public interest commissioners acknowledged the necessity of research for differentiated application by industry."
