This safety inspection targets 14 apartment construction sites, including 2 sites where construction has been halted, focusing on ▲ flood control measures against heavy rain, protection status of risk factors and retaining walls around the construction site ▲ ground safety assurance during underground excavation and the condition of earth retaining structures ▲ operation status and safety management of construction machinery such as tower cranes and pile drivers ▲ establishment and implementation of safety management plans ▲ management status of materials and equipment at halted construction sites.
Depending on the inspection results, minor issues will be immediately corrected through repairs and reinforcements, and sites with high accident risks due to inadequate safety management will receive emergency measures followed by administrative actions according to relevant laws.
A Pohang city official urged site personnel, “Due to recent climate change, it is difficult to predict weather conditions, so it is necessary to normalize self-inspections at the site and thoroughly prepare in advance.”
