Hampyeong Expo Park Water Playground Reopens After 3 Years
Operation from August 8 to August 15
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Hampyeong Expo Park water playground, famous as a local water play attraction, will open for the first time in three years since the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the county on the 20th, the Hampyeong Expo Park water playground, which had been closed since 2019 to prevent the spread of COVID-19, will open from July 8th.
Opened in 2010 within Hampyeong Expo Park, the water playground covers an area of 2,400㎡ and features various water play facilities such as a wave pool, children's pool, toddler pool, slide pool, and water bucket, accommodating up to 4,000 visitors per day.
It is especially well-known for its clean water quality using 100% tap water, and the shallow depth designed with children's safety in mind makes it a popular summer family vacation spot.
The county plans to inspect water treatment, facilities, and machinery at least once daily, and will have lifeguards and medical staff on standby to ensure visitors can enjoy water play in a comfortable and safe environment.
Additionally, convenience facilities such as free shade tents, rest areas, and picnic tables are provided, food delivery is allowed, and a trick art photo zone is set up, expected to attract family vacationers.
The Hampyeong Expo Park water playground will be open for admission from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from July 8th to August 15th, with closures every Monday for water quality management and facility inspection (August 15th will be open as usual).
Admission fees are 9,000 KRW for adults (ages 13 to 64) and 7,000 KRW for children (ages 3 to 12). Discounts are available for Hampyeong residents, national merit recipients, persons with disabilities, seniors aged 65 and over, or groups of 20 or more.
