KMI Korea Medical Institute Supports Free Health Checkups for Single-Parent Mother Families
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] KMI Korea Medical Institute announced on the 17th that it will carry out a social contribution project to provide free health checkups to improve the health and quality of life of single-parent mother families in collaboration with Yeongnak Moja-won.
Yeongnak Moja-won is a social welfare corporation that supports the independence of female single-parent families raising minor children, and KMI decided to sponsor health checkups for the health and happiness of single-parent mother families.
In addition to the national health checkup items, KMI plans to provide free tests for additional examination items that incur extra costs (500,000 KRW per person, totaling approximately 10 million KRW).
Kim Soon-yi, Chairperson of KMI's Social Contribution Committee, said, "Following last year's support for improving meal environments for the elderly at Yeongnak Senior Center, this year we plan to support health checkups so that single-parent mother families at Yeongnak Moja-won can maintain their health and prevent diseases," adding, "We hope KMI's social contribution activities will help improve the health welfare and quality of life of single-parent mother families even a little."

KMI Korea Medical Institute, established in 1985, operates health screening centers in seven locations nationwide, including three in Seoul (Gwanghwamun, Yeouido, Gangnam) and four regional centers (Suwon, Daegu, Busan, Gwangju). Along with activities for early disease detection, prevention, and promotion of public health, it carries out various social contribution projects.
