Strengthening Consulting and Support Policies for Research Schools

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] On June 15, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education conducted the 'Behavioral Intervention Policy Research School Midterm Regular Consulting' at Gasan Jain School in Gyeongsan.
This consulting was carried out with about 60 teachers from Gasan Jain School as participants, involving school field experts and officials from the Gyeongbuk Office of Education as consultants.
Gasan Jain School is operating a research school for two years starting this year under the theme "Reducing Crisis Behaviors of Special Education Students through the Positive SPEC Building Program."
The consulting proceeded through open classes for all teachers, class sharing meetings, and research school operation meetings, seeking ways to develop and apply a positive behavior support program at the special school level.
In addition to operating the behavioral intervention research school, the provincial education office is implementing various behavioral intervention support policies, including training behavioral intervention experts for students with disabilities (20 teachers completing 270 hours of training) and supporting behavioral intervention programs for special education students.

Lee Kyung-ok, Director of the Education Welfare Division, said, "Through the solid operation of the research school, we hope to develop a special education model that can further enhance the professionalism of special education in Gyeongbuk," adding, "Supporting behavioral intervention for students with disabilities is the first step to guaranteeing students' educational rights and human rights, so we will do our best to provide support."
