Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Launches 'Smart Safety Service' for Automatic Advanced Safety Device Verification
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance announced on the 16th that it has launched the Smart Safety Service, which automatically verifies the installation of advanced safety devices for Hyundai Motor and Kia customers and applies insurance premium discounts.
Previously, to subscribe to the advanced safety device discount special contract (such as lane departure warning device, forward collision warning device, black box, etc.), customers had to take a photo of the vehicle dashboard and submit it to the insurance company, which was inconvenient.
The newly launched service resolves this inconvenience by allowing customers to consent to the provision of personal information via smartphone, and then verifying the installation of advanced safety devices through information exchange between Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance, Hyundai Motor, and Kia, automatically subscribing to the applicable discount special contract.
This service is initially implemented for vehicles released after November 2018 and is planned to be expanded to vehicles released after 2016 within the year. The service is available for contracts subscribed to from this day onward.
