Gwangju Artificial Intelligence Academy, 3rd Class Entrance Ceremony... Full-Scale Education Begins
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Artificial Intelligence Academy held the 3rd entrance ceremony on the 15th at the newly established training center in Daeseong Academy Building, Dong-gu, and officially began its training.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City, about 100 people attended the entrance ceremony, including Mayor Lee Yong-seop, Dong-gu District Chief Im Taek, Kim Su-jeong, Head of Digital Talent Development at the Ministry of Science and ICT, Lee Kyung-rok, Head of the Software Division at the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, Im Cha-sik, Director of the AI Industry Convergence Project Group, Tak Yong-seok, Director of the Gwangju Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency, Choi Hyun-taek, President of the AI Industry-Academia-Research Association, Cha Jun-seop, Director of the Smart Talent Development Institute representing the 3rd training institutions, Kim Jae-won, CEO of ELICE, Bae I-yeol, Executive Director of the Korea Standards Association, and about 50 trainees.
The entrance ceremony proceeded in the order of the opening ceremony, principal appointment certificate presentation, 3rd trainees’ admission certificates and cadet IDs presentation, and facility tour.
Mayor Lee Yong-seop said, “This 3rd training course was prepared more thoroughly in a new space,” and added, “After completing the seven-month training course, we will actively support the trainees so that they can immediately be deployed to the field and demonstrate their capabilities.”
Meanwhile, 330 trainees were selected on the 11th after online courses, basic competency tests, and interview evaluations.

They were assigned to 10 classes divided into three tracks?AI modeling, AI-based services, AI platforms and infrastructure?and seven micro-tracks, and will take AI training courses and AI project courses from the 20th until December 14.
