Naju-si Accelerates 'Customized Workforce Training' to Resolve Youth Employment Challenges
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do is accelerating efforts to resolve youth employment difficulties and to cultivate customized manpower that meets corporate labor demands.
On the 15th, Naju City announced that it held an entrance ceremony for trainees of the regional and industry-tailored manpower training courses, ‘Accounting Practitioner’ and ‘Safety Manager,’ at the Job Comprehensive Support Center.
The accounting practitioner training course was prepared with support from the Jeollanam-do job contest project, and the safety manager course was established with national and provincial funding following the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s selection as an excellent institution in job evaluation.
In selecting the education subjects, the city actively reflected the results of last year’s training demand survey aimed at resolving the mismatch in recruitment at industrial and agricultural industrial complex companies, composing practical subjects for cultivating field-oriented manpower.
The training courses focus on cultivating practical manpower through acquiring professional certifications such as computerized tax accounting and industrial safety engineer.
The accounting practitioner course will operate for 28 trainees (33 days, 198 hours), and the safety manager course for 12 trainees (59 days, 242 hours) until October 13.
In particular, the safety manager course is receiving great response from trainees as corporate demand for safety managers is expected to increase due to the mandatory placement of safety managers at workplaces following the enforcement of the ‘Serious Accident Punishment Act’ this year.
Enforced on January 27, the Serious Accident Punishment Act fundamentally stipulates the responsibilities of management and safety and health managers regarding industrial accident fatalities that occur steadily every year, aiming to improve the quality of industrial safety and continuously reduce accidents through the establishment and management of safety and health management systems.
A Naju City official said, “We will do our best to cultivate specialized manpower suitable for occupations with high recruitment demand and for local industries to support job-seeking youth and stabilize the employment market,” adding, “We hope for much interest and participation in national and provincial job contest projects and free vocational training.”
