President Yoon Talks with Colombian President: "Please Support Busan Expo Bid"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 15th, President Yoon Suk-yeol requested support for the bid to host the 2030 Busan World Expo during a phone call with Iv?n Duque, President of Colombia.
During the call, President Yoon said, "Colombia is the only Latin American country that participated in the Korean War, and today marks the historic day when Colombia's 1st Artillery Battalion arrived at Busan Port," and proposed, "Let us continue to develop a future-oriented and comprehensive cooperative partnership," according to a presidential office official.
Korea and Colombia are celebrating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year. President Yoon mentioned that Korea is pursuing the bid to host the 2030 Busan World Expo and requested, "Since Busan is the place where the Colombian troops first arrived 71 years ago, please take an interest and support making it possible to hold the Expo in such a location."
