Jangheung-gun, AI Proactive Prevention According to Climate Change 'Excellent Farm On-site Training'
Promotion of Winter AI Occurrence Prevention through Sharing of Best Practices
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do conducted on-site training for excellent quarantine farms on the 14th to strengthen customized blocking quarantine and public-private cooperation based on the analysis of past AI outbreak causes.
According to the county on the 15th, recognizing that house-type duck barns vulnerable to quarantine and inadequate quarantine facilities were the main causes of AI outbreaks, 37 local poultry farms were gathered to tour the quarantine facilities of excellent quarantine farms.
On this day, Jeon Dohyun, Director of the Animal Quarantine Division of Jeollanam-do, personally led the on-site training.
Director Jeon said, “Due to climate change, migratory birds are arriving earlier every year, so it is necessary to enhance blocking quarantine measures by supplementing all legally mandated facilities at farms before the winter season,” urging timely completion of government-supported quarantine facility projects.
During the poultry farm quarantine management guidelines training and Q&A session, farm owners cultivated awareness of blocking quarantine and learned about the mandatory quarantine and disinfection facility standards and compliance requirements according to relevant laws.
As of June, Jangheung is conducting a comprehensive inspection of poultry farm quarantine facilities in cooperation with Jeollanam-do and the Quarantine Headquarters.
