Suncheon-si, Disclosure of Policy History to Enhance Transparency
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] On the 15th, Suncheon City in Jeollanam-do announced that it selected 236 key projects under the Policy Real-Name System and disclosed them through the city hall website.
The Policy Real-Name System is a system implemented by the city to enhance transparency and accountability of policies by recording and managing the real names and opinions of stakeholders involved in key projects and making that information public.
The city strengthened the fairness and responsibility of policies by excluding 41 completed projects from the 209 projects disclosed last year and adding 68 newly discovered projects for disclosure.
In particular, the city continuously manages projects closely related to citizens' lives, such as the construction of a pet culture center, mobile healthcare projects, Yeonhyangtteul urban development projects, and the operation of public dormitories. It also secured transparency of key projects and guaranteed citizens' right to know by selecting and disclosing new projects such as housing city gas supply support projects, special temporary support projects for youth monthly rent, and rural agreements promotion.
Since April, the city has been operating the ‘Citizen Application Real-Name System’ year-round to actively reflect citizen demand when selecting key projects under the Policy Real-Name System.
Any citizen of Suncheon can apply for projects they wish to be disclosed at any time.

The city plans to conduct additional inspections in the second half of the year to update project information for the 236 disclosed projects and actively promote the Citizen Application Real-Name System to ensure citizen participation and continue citizen-centered administration.
A Suncheon city official said, “Following 202 projects in 2020 and 209 projects in 2021, we disclosed 236 projects this year. We will continuously manage and discover key projects under the Policy Real-Name System to realize citizens’ right to know and pursue clean and fair administration.”
