Mujugun Nears Completion of Repair and Maintenance of Mupung Yadang Reservoir
Expecting Improved Resident Convenience through Renovation and Repair of Aging Agricultural Production Infrastructure
[Muju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Muju-gun announced on the 15th that with the completion of the renovation and repair project of Yadang Reservoir in Mupung-myeon approaching, local farmers are expecting secured agricultural water supply and disaster prevention.
Muju-gun secured a project budget of 500 million KRW to repair Yadang Reservoir, an agricultural infrastructure located at 364 Jeungsan-ri, Mupung-myeon, and started the project in March.
The renovation and repair project is scheduled to be completed around mid-this month.
Yadang Reservoir, used as an agricultural water supply infrastructure in the Jeungsan-ri area of Mupung-myeon, is a small-scale reservoir with a height of 11.3m, length of 140m, and a total storage capacity of about 54,000 tons.
This reservoir renovation and repair will employ grouting methods to prevent leakage, enhancing water storage capacity and significantly contributing to disaster prevention for risky reservoirs.
Muju-gun is carrying out renovation and repair projects including embankment grouting and reinforcement to prevent embankment leakage and subsidence.
Upon completion, the renovation and repair of aging agricultural production infrastructure is expected to secure agricultural water supply and prevent embankment disasters, thereby improving residents' convenience.
