On the 15th, Chairman Choi stated on his Facebook, "This is precisely the time when it is easy to become complacent with consecutive victories, making it the best time to carry out proactive and bold innovation more than ever."
He continued, "I know there are many discussions about the Innovation Committee. Unless one thinks our party does not need reform or believes it is acceptable to be complacent here, the necessity of innovation should not be a subject of controversy," emphasizing, "It is neither something to attack nor to make excuses for." This was an explanation of the "need for innovation" as the Innovation Committee Chairman amid internal tensions within the party regarding the Innovation Committee.
Chairman Choi said, "We must reform the party system in the way the people want, enhance the capabilities of party members, and create a predictable, clean, and transparent political environment to instill confidence in the public that only our 'Gukminuihim' is the right answer," adding, "That is the way to save South Korean politics, which is in crisis, and to empower the Yoon Seok-yeol administration."
He also said, "The recommendations for Innovation Committee members by the Supreme Council members are nearing completion. I believe this reflects their agreement on the necessity of innovation," and added, "Now is not the time to fight or delay. We must unite our efforts looking only toward the people, to become a party that the public can trust and to restore the public's trust in politics." It is known that among the floor leader Kwon Seong-dong, Policy Committee Chairman Seong Il-jong, and five Supreme Council members, six have completed their recommendations except Supreme Council member Bae Hyun-jin.
Chairman Choi concluded, "The public's interest in our politics is high, but trust is very low. The gap between interest and trust is the expectation for political reform," and said, "The people will not be intoxicated by sweet fruits but will pay attention and affection to a party that walks together with the people, constantly reflects, and makes sincere efforts."
