Gyeongsang's Leading Lager Norida... OB Beer KBC Launches Top Mart Exclusive Craft Beer 'Yaga Gada'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Dooyul] OB Beer’s craft beer specialty brand ‘Korea Brewers Collective (KBC)’ is partnering with Yeongnam region’s largest distributor ‘Top Mart’ to launch an exclusive craft beer called ‘Yaga Gada (Yes, I’m the one)’.
‘Yaga Gada’ is a lager-type beer made using the recipe of KBC Brewmaster Yoon Jung-hoon, a leading beer expert in Korea.
It features a sweet flavor and light body that appeals to a wide audience by adding citrus hops to Joe White Malt.
Top Mart, operated by Seowon Distribution, a supermarket chain in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam areas, is the number one distributor in the Yeongnam region with sales of 1.456 trillion KRW last year.
The new product reflects Seowon Distribution’s commitment and innovative thinking to actively communicate with younger consumers through collaboration with OB Beer, the industry leader.
To grow it into the ‘representative lager of Gyeongsang Province’ that visitors to the Yeongnam region must try, the product name uses the Gyeongsang dialect meaning ‘This is it’ to reflect local identity.
The packaging cheerfully depicts Yeongnam’s representative tourist attractions and foods with colorful illustrations. It is a 500ml canned beer with an alcohol content of 4.3%.
‘Yaga Gada’ will be exclusively sold at 76 Top Mart locations starting from the 15th, and as the first exclusive beer launched at a regional mart, various events such as tasting sessions and prize giveaways are planned.
A photo certification event will be held through the official Yaga Gada Instagram account.
An OB Beer official said, “‘Yaga Gada’ is a beer with a taste and flavor that anyone can comfortably enjoy, and we expect it to pair harmoniously with various foods from the Gyeongsang region,” adding, “KBC will continue to expand the craft beer category through ongoing collaborations with different industries to satisfy the increasingly diverse tastes of consumers.”
