Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters Supports Jeonbuk's First 119 Safety House

[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] The Jeollabuk-do Fire Headquarters (Chief Choi Min-cheol) visited the first recipient of the ‘119 Ansim House Support’ in Ipam-myeon, Jeongeup-si on the 14th to encourage them and deliver a housewarming gift.

The 119 Ansim House construction support project focuses on disaster recovery by repairing houses for vulnerable groups affected by residential fires, and providing mobile homes when repairs are not possible.

In particular, this project is the first among local governments in Jeollabuk-do to support fire victims by providing temporary housing and new homes, implemented since August 14, 2020, under the ‘Jeollabuk-do Fire Victims Temporary Housing Cost Support Ordinance.’

Based on this ordinance, systematic and continuous support has been provided for fire victims.

Since 2017, Jeollabuk-do has raised about 50 million KRW annually through voluntary donations from firefighters and volunteer fire brigades, providing 119 Happiness Houses to five locations, offering new homes to fire victims.

Additionally, in 2022, to expand the support targets, the 119 Ansim House project was planned, broadening the scope of funding through sponsorships from local companies and organizations.

Chief Choi Min-cheol of the Fire Headquarters said, “Thanks to donations from local companies and organizations who wished to help vulnerable fire victims, housing repair support was made possible. We will do our best to heal the wounds of residents affected by fire as much as preventing and extinguishing fires.”

Meanwhile, the 119 Ansim House fund is received and managed by the Jeonbuk Community Chest of Korea, and so far, including pledged donations, 73 million KRW has been raised.
