Lotte Department Store is positioning 'art' as one of its flagship contents.
From the 10th to the 14th of last month, Lotte Department Store held the 'Lotte Art Fair Busan 2022' at the Signiel Busan Hotel. The event featured 12 renowned galleries from Korea and abroad, along with over 30 lifestyle and design brands, making it the largest scale since the company's founding. Not only fine art but also crafts and design products were showcased, attracting thousands of visitors and concluding successfully. All 500 VIP tickets sold out well before the fair opened.

Highlights included spaces designed with ocean views, large-scale works by artists such as Nam June Paik and Lee Soo-kyung, Asia's largest gallery 'Tang Contemporary,' and 'Interart Channel,' which set up booths resembling a museum. The works of Chinese artist Wu Wei sold out during the exhibition period. A wine opener, first unveiled through a collaboration between artist Park Seo-bo and the Italian living brand Alessi, received numerous inquiries even before its release, with all 500 pieces sold during the event. Lotte Department Store is establishing art as a 'culture of everyday life' that customers can enjoy within the department store, and since March has been actively presenting art content such as the 'Rejoice Exhibition,' featuring 40 prominent female artists from Korea.
