KT AI Quarantine Robot Also Appears in Real Estate Exhibition Halls
Pilot Introduction of Dr. Budongsan Promotion Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] KT announced on the 14th that it has pilot-introduced the ‘KT AI Disinfection Robot,’ which combines disinfection technology and artificial intelligence (AI) robots, at the Dr. Budongsan Promotion Center.
The Dr. Budongsan Promotion Center is a real estate promotion center created by Seonbang, an O2O (Online to Offline) real estate solution provider, and Dr. Apartment. Starting with the Mido Apartment shopping mall in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, the Dr. Budongsan Promotion Center plans to sequentially introduce the KT AI Disinfection Robot to several real estate promotion centers.
The Dr. Budongsan Promotion Center plans to newly open about 100 real estate promotion centers mainly in large apartment complexes in the metropolitan area. It is expected that the KT AI Disinfection Robot will also be available at these locations in the future.
The KT AI Disinfection Robot adopts an eco-friendly plasma method that is harmless to the human body while sterilizing viruses by more than 99.9%, instead of spraying disinfectants harmful to humans. The plasma method allows safe disinfection even in spaces where people are present. Conventional disinfection activities typically involved wearing protective suits, evacuating people, and then spraying disinfectants.
The KT AI Disinfection Robot simultaneously disinfects viruses that have fallen to the floor through droplets using UVC LEDs installed at the bottom. It also provides air purification functions against fine dust, ultrafine dust, and harmful household gases.
The KT AI Disinfection Robot also implements AI robot functions. It applies technologies such as autonomous driving based on LiDAR and camera sensors and automatic charging, allowing the robot to move and disinfect autonomously. Leveraging KT’s strength as a nationwide network operator, it offers proactive customer care services such as 24-hour intelligent control, remote monitoring, and dispatch. Users can control the robot, check status information, schedule disinfection, and view reports via a smartphone app.
