"50-Year-Old Causes Disturbance at Former Seoul Mayor Jo Soon's Home, Demanding to Meet His Disciple"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 50s who tried to forcibly enter the former Seoul Mayor Cho Soon's residence, claiming to be his disciple, was arrested by the police.
On the 14th, the Gwanak Police Station in Seoul announced that they had arrested a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of trespassing and are currently investigating him.
According to the police, Mr. A visited former Mayor Cho's residence in Bongcheon-dong, Gwanak-gu, at around 7:43 p.m. the previous day. He rang the doorbell several times, saying, "I am a disciple of Mr. Cho Soon, please let me meet him," and when the former mayor's staff opened the gate and refused, he attempted to enter forcibly.
In response, the former mayor's staff reportedly called 112, reporting that "a suspicious person is trying to enter."
Police investigations revealed that Mr. A was not a disciple of former Mayor Cho and had occasionally visited the residence for economic consultations and other reasons for about two years. It was also reported that there had been no prior complaints filed against him.
