The Archi-Festival was conducted as part of the LINC3.0 Project Group’s industry-academia-research linked education program, the ‘Industry-Academia-Research Cluster Course.’
About 300 people attended the event, including approximately 250 architecture students from 1st to 5th year and industry professors such as Jeong Cheol-su, CEO of Diaki Architects Office, with exhibitions, presentations, evaluations, and special lectures on student works taking place.
Moon Jeong-pil, head of the Department of Architecture, said, “By exhibiting practical results fused with BIM and receiving evaluations from industry experts, real-time recruiting is conducted, and large companies such as Haengrim Architecture and DMP Architecture are expected to select future design personnel, leading to employment.”
Students said, “We are satisfied because we could learn a lot of practical know-how at the exhibition and work appraisal meeting with industry professors,” and “We hope to have many opportunities to gain such experiences.”
Industry professors said, “We are glad to be able to guide students’ creative ideas and works,” and “It was an event that greatly helped nurture design talents in the field of architecture.”
The LINC3.0 Project Group’s Industry Education Center is preparing an assignment exhibition to advance and prepare for competitions targeting architecture and urban areas by integrating the architecture design practice curriculum and the SW-BIM linked major curriculum.
To improve students’ self-directed basic learning, computer utilization, information gathering, and creative capabilities, non-curricular courses for the Industry-Academia-Research Cluster Course have also been opened.
The Department of Architecture is expanding the influence of BIM architectural design applicable to the 4th Industrial Revolution and AI era beyond the Busan area nationwide, achieving a 92.5% employment rate, 36 winners in the Korea Architecture Competition over the past seven years, and a total of 83 awards in domestic and international student competitions in 2021.
