KOTRA Hosts Webinar Sharing Know-How on Winning CES Innovation Awards

[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] KOTRA announced on the 13th that it will hold a ‘CES Innovation Award Know-how Sharing Webinar.’ The webinar, scheduled for the 15th, will cover ▲Overview and application methods for the CES Innovation Award ▲KOTRA’s support programs for winning the Innovation Award ▲Know-how for winning the Best Innovation Award, and is expected to be attended by 200 startups that applied in advance.

The CES Innovation Award is given by the Consumer Technology Association in the U.S. to products that are newly launched in the market that year and demonstrate outstanding technology, design, and innovation. For startups preparing to enter overseas markets, building award references at reputable international exhibitions and competitions like CES can greatly help increase their recognition.

This year, a total of 89 Korean companies won the CES 2022 Innovation Award, of which 60 were startups. Among them, 29 startups received support from KOTRA.

Starting with this webinar, KOTRA plans to select 30 startups and run an award support program from July to September to accelerate efforts to lead our startups to win the ‘CES 2023 Innovation Award.’ Selected companies will receive one-on-one mentoring on writing English applications as well as support for application fees.

Jun-ho Lee, CEO of Petnow, said, “Our overseas expansion plans, which were intended to be carried out over several years, are progressing faster thanks to the effect of the Best Innovation Award,” and emphasized, “It is most important to concisely express the innovativeness of the product submitted in English.”

Jung-yeol Yoo, President of KOTRA, said, “Winning awards at international exhibitions or competitions is very important for startups to secure competitiveness in overseas markets,” and added, “We will actively support our startups to successfully enter overseas markets through winning the Innovation Award.”
