The inspection targets 28 key management businesses located in the Bukok and Yuha-dong and Jinyeong and Bonsan-ri semi-industrial odor management areas, checking whether prevention facilities are operating normally and whether odor reduction facility improvements are underway. Odor pollution tests will also be conducted if necessary.
Using nine odor monitoring systems operating in real-time within the odor influence zones, mobile measurement equipment vehicles, drones, and other advanced equipment, the city will track and monitor odor emission sources in factory-dense areas and conduct patrols by environmental monitors during both day and night.
Strong administrative measures will be taken against violating businesses, while businesses showing clear willingness for voluntary odor reduction efforts and facility improvements will receive technical support and partial funding for prevention facility upgrades.
To effectively manage odors in areas dense with odor emission sources, the city designated the Bukok and Yuha-dong industrial area of 757,000㎡ as an odor management area in October 2020, and the Jinyeong and Bonsan-ri semi-industrial area of 1,001,000㎡ in July 2021, conducting annual odor status surveys.
