On the 10th, Hyosung TNC announced that it participated in the launch ceremony of the 'Zero Seoul Action Group,' a public-private cooperation network on environmental issues organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. The Zero Seoul Action Group includes 13 companies such as Daesang Co., Starbucks, SK Telecom, Woori Bank, and Golfzon, three economic councils including the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Federation of Korean Industries, and the Korea Federation of SMEs, and one media outlet, Maeil Business Newspaper.
Hyosung TNC will lead the 'Zero Waste' project in cooperation with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, focusing on resource circulation of waste plastics. They plan to increase the production of recycled fibers and create demand for eco-friendly fibers by expanding the participation of autonomous districts in separating and disposing of transparent waste PET bottles. Since last year, together with Seoul City and the Geumcheon, Yeongdeungpo, and Gangnam districts, they have been separately collecting transparent waste PET bottles to produce 'Regen Seoul,' a recycled fiber. Approximately 9 million recycled waste PET bottles have been used. Generally, 15 pieces of 500ml PET bottles are recycled to make one T-shirt.
