Gwangju Nambu Fire Station '119 Safety Call Service' Promotion Campaign
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju Southern Fire Station announced on the 9th that it is conducting a promotional campaign to encourage enrollment in the ‘119 Safety Call Service,’ which provides customized rescue and emergency medical services by verifying information about emergency patients.
The ‘119 Safety Call Service’ is an emergency medical service that allows emergency responders to know the characteristics of diseases and situations in advance and respond accordingly when receiving a 119 emergency call, based on information pre-registered by socially vulnerable groups (such as the elderly, children, and people with disabilities).
According to statistics from the Gwangju Metropolitan City Fire Safety Headquarters, as of December 2021, the number of people enrolled in the 119 Safety Call Service was 9,781, representing a low enrollment rate of 0.68% relative to the total population.
Accordingly, the Southern Fire Station is visiting about 40 senior centers in the district to distribute posters and leaflets and is conducting a promotional campaign including proxy registration to encourage enrollment in the 119 Safety Call Service.
