Chungnam, Summer Livestock Product Safety Inspection to Prevent Food Safety Accidents
[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province announced on the 9th that it will conduct hygiene inspections on vulnerable areas of livestock products during the summer season until the end of this month.
The inspections will be carried out by provincial officials, officials from 15 cities and counties, and honorary livestock product hygiene monitors, targeting 293 livestock product processing businesses within the jurisdiction.
The main inspection items include ▲ compliance with preservation and distribution expiration dates ▲ adherence to hygienic handling and transportation ▲ proper sorting and packaging of eggs ▲ compliance with the prohibition of storage, distribution, and sale of broken eggs ▲ compliance with self-quality inspection standards, among others.
The province plans to conduct sample inspections on livestock products, whose consumption increases during the summer vacation season, to ensure hygiene and safety and prevent food safety accidents such as food poisoning.
Businesses that violate livestock product hygiene management regulations will be subject to administrative measures such as business suspension and fines in accordance with the Livestock Products Hygiene Control Act.
