Mokpo Municipal Gugak Center, Professor Jeong Jaeyeon Awarded the Presidential Prize
The 27th Hanbat National Gugak Competition Grand Prize in the Master Dancer Division
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seung-hyun] Professor Jeong Jae-yeon of the Dance Department at Mokpo Municipal Gugak Center in Jeollanam-do won the Presidential Award, the grand prize in the Myungmu division, at the 27th Hanbat Gugak National Competition.
According to the city on the 8th, the Hanbat Gugak National Competition, which featured over 170 teams competing across the Myungmu, General, and Student divisions, is a prestigious contest where the Presidential Award is uniquely presented nationwide for traditional dance.
Professor Jeong graduated from the Korea National University of Arts, earned a master's degree from Sookmyung Women's University Graduate School of Education, and has been serving as a professor in the Dance Department at Mokpo Municipal Gugak Center since 2015.
