Kyungbok University Holds 30th Anniversary Ceremony... Professor Lee Dong-su Awarded Udang Prize
[Asia Economy (Namyangju) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeongbok University celebrated its 30th anniversary.
On the 3rd, Gyeongbok University announced on the 7th that it held the '30th Anniversary Ceremony and Udang Award Presentation' at the Udang Art Hall on the Namyangju Campus.
The event proceeded in the order of a commemorative speech by Acting President Kim Gyeongbok, the Udang Award presentation, and a congratulatory song by the faculty choir, with about 150 staff members attending.
At the ceremony, the Udang Award was presented to Professor Lee Dong-su (Department of Service Management). Professor Lee was recognized for his contributions to the development of the university as a model who practiced the founding philosophy and spirit of Gyeongbok University?Hongik Ingan (benefiting all mankind), loyalty and filial piety, self-reliance and continuous effort, and mission-driven humanity?and was selected as the Udang Award recipient.
Additionally, faculty and staff who achieved merits in various categories (employment rate, enrollment rate, industry-academia revenue rate, excellent papers, national exam pass rate, outstanding teaching evaluations, etc.) were each awarded, and Professors Joo Mi-kyung (Department of Nursing), Woo Jong-tae (Department of Drone Construction Environment), and Lee Seung-won (Department of Drone Construction Environment), who contributed to educational development, each received commendations from the Minister of Education.

In his commemorative speech, Acting President Kim Gyeongbok said, "I thank the awardees and staff who have devoted themselves to remarkable growth both quantitatively and qualitatively as a strong young institution over 30 years." He emphasized, "We will focus the university's capabilities on nurturing creative convergence talents with future-oriented insight by presenting three major tasks to overcome obstacles ahead: practicing student success education, advancing industry-academia cooperation, and realizing a hybrid campus through bold integration of the 4th Industrial Revolution convergence."
