[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Kim Hyewon] On the 7th, Visit Moon-kyu, appointed as the Director of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, is an economic bureaucrat who has held various budget and finance positions at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
He graduated from Suwon Suseong High School and Seoul National University with a degree in English Language and Literature, and entered public service by passing the 28th Administrative Examination. He was in charge of fiscal policy at the Ministry of Planning and Budget and has experience working at the Presidential Secretariat, the World Bank, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
At the Ministry of Economy and Finance, he held positions related to finance and budget such as Performance Management Officer, Spokesperson, Social Budget Officer, Budget General Officer, and Budget Director. During the Park Geun-hye administration, he consecutively served as the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Vice Minister of Health and Welfare.
During Governor Kim Kyung-soo’s term in 2018, he served as the chairman of the Gyeongnam Province Economic Innovation Promotion Committee, and since 2019, he has been the President of the Export-Import Bank of Korea.
