Kim Wang-seok, Officer at Gangjin County Office, Donates 100 Blood Donation Certificates to Chonnam National University
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] It has recently come to light that Kim Wangseok, an administrative officer working at Gangjin County Office in Jeollanam-do, donated 100 blood donation certificates to Jeonnam National University Children's Hospital, spreading warmth throughout the local community.
According to Jeonnam National University Hospital on the 7th, Officer Kim donated the blood donation certificates on the 6th floor seminar room of Building 6 at the hospital last month, marking the 100th anniversary of Children's Day. The donation ceremony was attended by Hospital Director Kim Chanjong and Kim Hyunmi, head of the Gwangju Regional Headquarters of the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation.
This is not Officer Kim's first blood donation certificate donation. In April and February of last year, he donated 100 certificates each, totaling 200, to the Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Leukemia and Pediatric Cancer Association. Additionally, on November 9th last year, to commemorate Firefighters' Day, he donated 119 blood donation certificates to the Gangjin Fire Station.
Officer Kim collects blood donation certificates sent from all over the country after promoting the cause through social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, which he personally operates, and then donates them. Of course, he also participates by donating blood himself. Officer Kim is known as a blood donation king, having donated blood a total of 155 times over 23 years.
Officer Kim said, "I started donating blood because a friend in high school suffered from leukemia, and since joining the county office, I have been donating steadily every two weeks. It keeps me healthy and allows me to help those around me, so I actively encourage others to do the same."
Officer Kim does not stop at donating blood donation certificates but has been consistently involved in various volunteer activities. He participates in volunteer groups such as 'Dodam Dodam,' which supports first birthday parties for multicultural children; the Baramkkot Housing Environment Improvement Volunteer Group, which improves the living conditions of low-income households through wallpapering and flooring; and the Gwangju Talent Donation Center, which donates cash or daily necessities in the names of children.
