Police Officer Accused of Raping a Woman He Met for the First Time, Sent to Detention

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] A police officer accused of raping a woman he met for the first time after taking her to his home has been handed over to the prosecution.
According to the prosecution on the 7th, the Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul sent Sergeant A, affiliated with the Mapo Police Station and accused of rape, to the prosecution under detention last week.
Sergeant A is accused of taking a woman he met at a pub in Seodaemun-gu last April to his home and raping her. The police launched a full-scale investigation, applied for an arrest warrant for Sergeant A, and the court issued the warrant on the 30th of last month, citing concerns over evidence tampering.
