View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 7th that it will hold the ‘2022 Korea Excellent Incentive Tourism Product Contest’ with the Korea Tourism Organization to revitalize the tourism and travel industry and promote Korean tourism.
The contest was planned to discover and nurture competitive tourism products since last year in preparation for the resumption of inbound tourism.
The contest is open to comprehensive travel agencies registered under Article 2 of the Enforcement Decree of the Tourism Promotion Act. Travel agencies that plan and sell programs for foreign corporate meetings and incentive inbound groups can apply. Applications are accepted on the official website until the 21st.
Through this contest, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism plans to select up to 20 travel agencies operating excellent incentive tourism products. Selected agencies will receive a prize of 10 million won each and support for five pre-inspection trips to evaluate tourism products through a foreign monitoring group.

A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official said, “This contest was prepared to induce and discover differentiated and competitive incentive tourism products unique to Korea,” adding, “We will closely cooperate with the Korea Tourism Organization to operate the project so that the tourism industry can overcome the crisis and make a leap forward through various supports such as invitation promotional trips and challenge program operations.”
