[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Gun-chan] A man in his 40s who wielded a weapon at another man living in a different room on the rooftop of a gosiwon was arrested by the police.
The Bucheon Wonmi Police Station in Gyeonggi announced on the 7th that they have arrested and are investigating Mr. A (in his 40s) on charges of special assault.
Mr. A is accused of stabbing Mr. B (in his 40s) three times with a weapon on the thigh and pelvis on the rooftop of a gosiwon in Jung-dong, Bucheon City, Gyeonggi Province, at around 8:50 p.m. on the 6th.
When Mr. A could not see Mr. B, he called 112 and told the responding police officers, "I stabbed Mr. B." The police arrested Mr. A at the scene.
Mr. B, who was stabbed with the weapon, was found by a passerby in front of a bar about 30 meters away from the gosiwon.
Both Mr. A and Mr. B were intoxicated, and Mr. B received treatment and was discharged.
Mr. A stated, "I was usually dissatisfied with Mr. B drinking a lot, and we had an argument in the gosiwon kitchen," adding, "I told him to come up to the rooftop and then stabbed him with a weapon."
