Catch Fashion Appoints Jang Woo-hyuk, Former Google Cloud Engineer, as CTO
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Smile Ventures, the operator of the luxury fashion platform Catch Fashion, has newly appointed Jang Woo-hyuk, former CTO of Google Cloud Korea, as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
According to Smile Ventures on the 7th, CTO Jang earned his Ph.D. in machine learning supervised learning techniques from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). He then built data-driven customer services at Samsung Electronics' wireless division, SK Planet, 11st, and Google.
In particular, at Samsung Electronics, he developed the data platform for 'Samsung Pay' and the 'Big Data Center.' At SK Planet and 11st, he played roles related to e-commerce data operations such as delivery date prediction, catalog mismatching prediction, order automation, and seller coaching systems. Later, while working as a Data Analytics Specialist at Google Cloud Korea, he supported digital transformation and AI solutions (AI·ML·MLOps) for domestic retail, e-commerce, and digital native enterprises.

CTO Jang stated, "Catch Fashion's strength lies in real-time integration of product information based on global partnerships," adding, "We plan to focus on providing customized luxury lifestyle services tailored to diverse customer needs."
