[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] A teenager who posted online about planning to terrorize President Yoon Seok-yeol's residence was apprehended by the police.
On the 4th, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul announced that they arrested a 19-year-old male, Mr. A, in Geoje City, Gyeongsangnam-do, early that morning for posting a message online threatening to terrorize President Yoon's home, and he is currently under investigation.
On the 2nd, around 8:40 PM, Mr. A posted a message titled "On June 3, 2022, at exactly 6 AM, I will terrorize Yoon Seok-yeol's residence." The post included statements such as "I am a 21-year-old male university student who took a leave of absence because the military salary was 2 million won, but it turned out to be a waste of time." He also wrote negative remarks mentioning Kim Geon-hee, the wife of President Yoon. A citizen who saw the post reported it to the police around 2 AM the previous day.
In response, the police deployed the Special Forces and the Violent Crimes Unit near the residence. It is also known that the Presidential Security Service and the Prime Minister's Office Anti-Terrorism Center were briefed on the situation.

A police official stated, "Mr. A, who admitted to the entire course of the crime, was apprehended," and added, "We plan to investigate the motive behind the crime."
