'Interfloor Noise Weapon Rampage' Lower Floor Couple Stabbed and Fled, 30s Found Dead
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 30s who wielded a weapon against a couple living in the apartment below him in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and fled the scene was found dead.
The Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 2nd that Mr. A, who was suspected of causing special injury, was found deceased last month on the 31st at an undisclosed location in Daejeon.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of stabbing the couple living in the apartment in Yeongdeungpo at around 9:50 PM on the 29th of last month and then fleeing.
Mr. A fled immediately after the incident, and the police identified the suspect and began a manhunt.
A police official stated, "We are investigating on the assumption that Mr. A took his own life," adding, "The investigation of the death case is being handled by the local police station."
Meanwhile, the victim couple was transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
The police believe that Mr. A committed this crime due to noise complaints between floors.
