Gyeongnam Jeongbo University Selected for High School Vocational Education Hub Project... Receives 4.5 Billion KRW in Government Funding Over 3 Years
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Gyeongnam Information University (President Kim Dae-sik) was selected on the 2nd for the 'Higher Vocational Education Hub District Project' hosted by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
The project supports universities to collaborate with basic local governments to select regional specialized fields that align with regional development goals, and to link and reorganize the university's education system to serve as a hub for region-based higher vocational education.
Gyeongnam Information University will receive a total budget of 4.5 billion KRW over three years starting this year.
Gyeongnam Information University formed a consortium with Sasang-gu, Busan, where the university is located, and selected regional specialized fields such as ▲Smart Industrial City ▲Eco-friendly Ecological and Welfare City.
As regional social contribution tasks, the project was evaluated based on ▲Support for improving the environment of local aging senior centers ▲Support for local cultural festival projects ▲Lifelong vocational education programs for migrant women ▲Support for urban landscape projects such as 'retaining wall and wall painting' in vulnerable districts ▲Establishment of a win-win cooperation system to revitalize regional specialized fields.
Gyeongnam Information University plans to reorganize the curriculum to nurture talents needed in the region and further advance lifelong vocational education within the region.
